It may seem early, but the American Association of Orthodontists recommends that parents schedule their child’s first visit by age 7. This is when your child’s smile has a mix of baby and permanent teeth, and their jaw is still developing. This early check-in is truly a thoughtfully planned way to monitor how those adult teeth are coming in.
It’s About Gentle Guidance, Not Immediate Braces
The goal of our Rising Star Program isn't to start braces right away. Instead, it’s about providing gentle guidance and checking for potential issues early. If we catch crowding, spacing issues, or jaw development concerns when they are minor, it makes the rest of their smile journey much simpler later on. You can feel completely at ease knowing that if early treatment is needed, it will be much less challenging.
What We Look for During Growth Monitoring
As your child continues to grow, our experienced team watches for things that could become more serious later on. This includes:
- Potential cross-bite or open bite development.
- Issues with how baby teeth are affecting the placement of permanent teeth.
- Concerns with mouth habits, like thumb sucking, that can affect jaw growth.
